Student Internships

Students from various academic backgrounds involved in studies at the High School, College, University or post educational levels can benefit greatly by undertaking the opportunities that Student Internships offer.

When a student considers placement within an Internship it opens a number of doors for them to gain credits, practical hands-on experience in a field of interest for further study or as a future career. It can also serve to assist the Co-Operative student with a valuable way to achieve hours necessary to fulfill graduation requirements.

Many Universities and Colleges offer internships regularly in order that students will have a viable means of gaining certain skills and for those who need them, to earn credits that may help to complete or further their studies.

Student Internships can be quite competitive because only a few such openings normally exist at any one time and the positions that are available often follow a schedule based upon the academic school year.

Although most of these opportunities are usually considered volunteer, some internships offer students the possibility to earn while they learn. Well established internships are available within a wide range of disciplines including the Medical field, Hospitality, Scientific Research Labs, Governmental offices, small, medium and large businesses, corporations and non-profit sectors to name a few.

Students who pursue internship opportunities in their field of study often find that an internship position offers numerous advantages. These include the opportunity to gain excellent work experience, the ability to determine if a certain field is the direction they really wish to pursue in future, the ability to network within a chosen field of interest and create connections that can lead to gainful employment in the future.

Student Internships can allow students to rise above the competition when it is time to pursue employment in their field of choice. By choosing to become involved in internship opportunities, many students find the experience gained during the application and interview process, as well as during the internship itself offers them a level of preparedness for future endeavors and a level of confidence, which their peers who have not interned, may not possess.

Internships for students can be instrumental in paving the way for them to confidently undertake further studies, pursue disciplines that further enhance and propel them toward a successful future and ultimately, a successful career choice.
